Best is to go and check the manufacturers website for replacement or for a extra battery. This will help you to buy a correct battery which would fit your phone best. One more advantage is that your phone would not be at a risk as the voltage would be right for your phone. Batteries that may fit your phone but don't have the right voltage will fry your phone circuits and ruin the phone. This can be a very expensive and non repairable mistake. Not all the second party batteries are bad however. There are many non-proprietary cell phone batteries that build batteries at a very low cost like in Malaysia, Taiwan, China, and Philippines. It is in deed good to have similar battery usage for a lesser prise. But you got to look at the cons for picking up such batteries from the gray market. The quality of these batteries are almost unmeasurable. Its like trying to put a shot in the dark. Most of the people don't accept this. Do read the reviews online of the battery you purchasing.

You can never judge the battery until and unless you buy the battery, charge it and ultimately use it. The best suggestion would be to go to the manufacturer first, only then you realise that the battery is too expensive go ahead with the second battery market. Sometimes spending a little more is worth it for a long run.
